Know Your Parrot

There are many things you need to know and the main one is KNOW YOUR PARROT! Understand his/her habits. What they eat, how much. Notice their sleeping patterns. Remember their vocalizations. Watch their molting schedules. Their personalities. Notice their droppings, the appearance etc.  Pay attention to all the details.

Why are these things important? To be your signal of anything changing with your parrot. Changes to your parrot should be reviewed with your vet depending on what the changes are. For example: if your parrot is sleeping more than usual, making this totally out of character, your parrot might be fighting an illness; difficult molt; or a different reason entirely.

Remember if you choose to have a parrot you are responsible for their well being.
