diy parrot toyToys for Your Parrot

I believe that toys are key to your parrots sense of learning, experiences, fun, play and exploration times.  Toys are critical!!  A happy parrot equals long term success for you both in a content relationship.  Living with a parrot takes work, but in the end the relationship is a treasure.

Toy Rotation

Toys need to be rotated and changed often!  I check the toys each day to make sure there are no lose ends etc.

Making Toys?

I make a lot of my toys, probably 95%.  Here are some ideas that are simple and fun which you can make too.  Important Note: Know what is safe for your parrot, just because something is okay for my parrot does not mean it will work for yours.

making parrot toysRemember to look at items you use in your household as a potential toy or foot toy.  For example:  lids from food items (mustard tops, ketchup toys).  Straws bunched and tied together with zippy ties are great play items.  I have listed the items used as a general items eg. plastic bead, this allows you to use the items you have on hand, you do not have to use exactly what I have.  Remember imagination is key!

Your parrot needs and requires toys to keep mentally stimulated, as well as, physical activity and adventure.  For more toys ideas see:
